Sidley Austin is continuing a lateral hiring push well into the new year. A trio of private equity Fried Frank lawyers are joining Sidley, according to sources familiar with the moves.
Shant Manoukian and Andrew Colosimo, partners in Fried Frank’s GP stakes and private equity/M&A practices, as well as Patrick Greeley, who was in a special counsel role, are heading to Sidley in New York. They are joining as partners in Sidley's M&A and private equity practice.
Sidley was not available for comment. But sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirmed that all three are moving from Fried Frank, though Greeley so far is the only one who has officially started with Sidley.
A Fried Frank representative did not immediately comment.
This week, Sidley also said Lisa H. Miller, former Justice Department deputy assistant attorney general for its Criminal Division, will join the firm. Miller will join Sidley as a partner in Washington, D.C. She was the third-highest-ranking member of the DOJ’s Criminal Division since her appointment in 2021, Sidley said.
Last week, Evan Palenschat joined Sidley as a partner in its global finance practice in Chicago, moving from from Proskauer Rose. In a statement, the firm said it is focused on continuing to grow its global finance group as a “destination practice” for high-value and complex financings.
And earlier this month, Sidley confirmed the additions of M&A partners David Grubman from Jones Day and Adam Cromie from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett. Grubman, who was the M&A chair for the Americas at Jones Day, will take a co-lead role in that same practice at Sidley.
