Barbara Thompson is a Managing Director at CenterPeak and an experienced legal recruiter known for her ability to connect top legal talent with the world’s most prestigious law firms. Driven by an innate curiosity about people, Barbara takes a consultative and strategic approach to recruiting, partnering closely with firm leadership and candidates to understand their goals, culture, and practice strengths. Her expertise helps law firms build world-class teams that thrive in today’s competitive legal market.

Barbara’s career has been shaped by a global perspective. Having spent over six years living and working in Shanghai, China, she gained invaluable insight into cross-border legal markets, cultural nuances, and the evolving needs of international law firms. This experience allows her to advise clients and candidates with a deep understanding of the complexities of global legal hiring.

Barbara earned a B.A. in History and Government from the College of William & Mary and a J.D. from the Catholic University of America. Outside of work, she and her husband spend their time chasing after their two energetic boys. A passionate Washington, D.C. sports fan, she is especially enjoying the renaissance of football in the Nation’s Capital. Barbara is also a Registered Yoga Teacher with over 500 teaching hours.
